latest update 22 October 2008
Hi
Everyone
Things are really starting to move here at Coolinda Park.
Foaling season is drawing to a close now and we have had a filly
year. Only one colt born this year and with only one mare
left to foal it looks like there wont be too much gelding going
on. If you are interested in a gelding then please contact
us for the young one or there is one more 3yo left to sell on
the gelding sales list.
I
want to share some photos taken yesterday of our newest baby.
Below is Kylie and her baby Danni, our Belted Galloways.
They are just so cute! We have two more claves due and
hopefully they will both be heifers.

I
have some endurance news for you from Noni Seagrim and CP
Louisville. They are doing so well and have now done their
first 80 km ride. Noni writes:
Hi,
Well,
Louie has just completed his first 80 km ride at Woodstock this
weekend in a time of 9 hours and 10 minutes, with good results.
He was fine, but I’m fairly sure he coped better than me!!!
He was
really lazy in the first vetting, trot out was more like a
shuffle out… and we got a B. When I went for a ride he was
cantering on the spot the whole way, so full of beans, he was
ready to go. Sunday
morning we left at 6am just behind the leaders till almost the
second check point then a big group passed us when we stopped to
water our horses. We moved along slowly, or rather every one
else in our group got their horses walking calmly and Lou ran
along trying to see how far ahead the next horses were. He
finally settled down by the 30km mark and by 40km he was under
the impression that we had been out the usual amount of time and
we must nearly be home. So 50km later and at 10:47 we got back
in after the first leg, mid field position. About 15 riders came
in after us, but in the end only 2 past us. Vetted well and Lou
was horrified that the horses who had come in about 5 minutes
ahead of us were going back out and why wasn’t his saddle on
yet… We rode out for the second leg at 11:49 for what has been
the longest 30km of my life. Almost 5 hours later, after walking
most of the way we galloped the last 3 km and pulled up to be
told the time limit had been extended 15 minutes… *groan*
I nearly
fainted from heat exhaustion at the weigh in, and walked back to
camp Louie was tired but reasonably happy. He had been fine
until about 10km out and after that he started to show that he
was a bit sleepy, almost dumping me 2 km from home when a bird
jumped out of a bush. So 2 Polish Arabs, Aztec and CP
Louisville, came home last but happy in Woodstock 80km.
At
presentation we got Novice horse, Novice rider encouragement
award (stethoscope, lip balm and a hoof pick), and our first
buckle.
We got
home at 1:30am this morning, and Louie was doing his best to
gallop home and eat at the same time.
He was a
little bit stiff but not to bad this afternoon. Big bucket if
grain and a fly veil later he is fine, he is over telling his
favourite dog all about his longest ride yet, at the moment.

Have a look at the sales pages as I have
added the first couple of mares that are for sale. For
those interested in breeding black foals you cant go past CP Xza
Xza. Already a black foal producer (a stunning one at
that!) and priced to sell. There is also only a couple of
geldings left to sell and with such a good filly drop this year
we will have to wait another twelve months for the chance of
more geldings.Photo right is of
Lilliana bint Lillaine (The General x Lillaine)now well
into her 20's and enjoying retirement. Lill is
occasionally used for a ride around the property as she is such
a quiet riding horse. She is also the dam of CP Xza Xza,
Xia Xiang and quite a few successful show and endurance
horses.
We have some Coolinda Park horses going
to new homes. CP Alfikka (Chronicle DV x CP Aflame),
CP Aflight (Creme Dynasty x Fairview Egyptian Fantasy)
and her filly foal sired by WH Zmanor E and the gelding CP
Chynzo (WH Zmanor E x CP Chynna) are all going to new
homes. Good luck to new owners.
Cheers
Carole
Previous Updates
It
has been so long since the last update that it will take ages to
catch up! Between farm work and computer blow ups there
just hasnt been the time to do anything to the web page.
So
where to start................
Back
in May we went to the foal and youngstock show held at Morongla
showgrounds. I t
was a great day with lots of foals and young horses. We
took two foals, CP Frezja (WH Zmanor E x CP
Foxiling) and CP Hello Zailor (WH Zmanor E x CP Hello
Dolly). CP Frezja won the filly class and went on to
win Champion Arabian foal and CP Hello Zailor won his gelding
class and then went Reserve Champion. Both foals were well
behaved and had a great day out. We also took the two
Arabian Ponies, CP Aflame N Sin and CP Aflikka Soot. Both
of these ponies came home with Champion ribbons. CP Linkz
won Champion Youngstock
Arabian.

In
August we went to the Cowra Horse Expo. It was one of the
coldest weekends ever in Cowra! Apart from that we had a
fabulous weekend with our stall and also the stall for the
Arabian Horse Society. We had lots of visitors and were
awarded the Best Presented Stall for the Expo. Pictured below
our stall at the expo and on the right is Emily modelling riding
wear from Gallery Equine and jodphers from Kaz's Jodz.

Photo
left is of Mistral Kendal-Hawke who was our helper for the expo
and also modelled the Gallery Equine riding wear.
Below is a general view of the expo. As you can see
there was lots to do and heaps of interesting stalls.
At
the end of August we went to our first show. Grenfell show
and we showed Buddy (Thorpeville Amos, shetland) and our newest
venture a Dachshund pup. Buddy got Reserve champion in his
class and Emily was second in her rider class. The puppy
was second in the sweepstakes against 21 other puppies of all
breeds and then won her baby puppy class for Dachshunds.
That was really exciting for the start of the dog showing.
The next show was Cowra show where Buddy was Champion Shetland
and Emily won the ridden shetland class. The puppy won her
baby puppy class for Dachshunds.
We
have had a very successful foaling season so far with 8 foals
for 7 fillies.
I have taken some photos of the foals for
you and will put them on the foal page. We have decided to
make available for sale mares and fillies that havent been
available previously. There will be brood mares in foal
and others ready to join. Mares that are broken to saddle
and young mares that are ready to break in. So if you are
looking for a pure polish mare then now is the time to act.
A sales list will follow but expressions of interest are invited
on any that you may be interested in. Prices will start at
$2000.
I
have some news from Noni Seagrim and CP Louisville.
Hi,
Just letting you all know that Louie and I successfully
completed 2 training rides in Canberra this weekend.
He tried his best on the first day to go flat out, wouldnt
drink, wouldnt eat, wouldnt calm down. He finally got some sense
about 7kms out and started to walk and have a little drink. It
was very hot and humid not a good day for a 39km sprint... we
got back vetted through with an overall B, (a bit
dehydrated, hot and tired). Highest heart rate ever, 50... he
rolled about 30 secs before he had it taken, and he was 42 in
the yard before we went over to vetting.
Sunday he decided maybe he really didnt have to go like hell,
walking trotting bit of cantering one little gallop. Came home
ate, drank, bouced down to vetting overall A, HR of 44.
But it was a bit colder than Sat.... Rain hail sleet all of it
horizontal about 1 third of the way through the ride.. Louie was
not very happy to have hail bouncing off him... we were all
soaked and didnt dry off for the rest of the ride.
but all in all a great ride.
Ill see how we go but might do an 80km at Woodstock 18/19th Oct.
Cheers, Noni
And now for her latest ride:
Hello,
just dropping you guys a quick line, galloped through Harden
40km with ease.
3:22 time, HR 37 in 43 out, score IN A 2 0 A A A A A A A,
OUT A 1 1 A A A A A A A.
He did it really easy, drank on course and back at camp, i
was stuffed but he could have done 80km.
Woodstock 80km here we come!!!
I will write again once Im more awake. :D
Cheers,
Noni
Good luck Noni for the 80kms.
I have some news from Rockhampton where the gelding CP Azhly
(WH Zmanor E x CP Aflikka) is now living:
Here is a photo of the boy his coat is not right out
but isn't he beautiful:

So
that is about all I have for now. I will get the photos of
the foals up and put the sales horses on the sales pages.
Cheers
Carole
Previous updates
The
plans are well underway for the foal and youngstock shows with
the weanlings really enjoying their time in the spot light.
We are taking 2 WH Zmanor E (imp USA) foals. A filly and a
gelding and the 2 coloured ponies for the youngstock classes.
I will update the results and let you know how they go.
Although we havent been to any shows I did enter the online show
run by ArabsInc in Canberra. CP Hello Zailor won the
Junior trot class and CP Linkz won Supreme Junior Arabian. I
enjoy the ease of the online shows and it gave the clubs a
chance to earn some funds while EI restricted us all.
I
have some endurance news for you. Firstly from Noni
Seagrim who is starting out in endurance with the pure polish
gelding CP Louisville (Chronicle DV imp USA x CP Louiza).
Noni writes about her Gundagai ride:
Well another one gone,
with very good results that I will get to later. CP
Louisville, a.k.a. Louie, has come home from his second Training
ride on 26.4.08.
Louie loaded well on
ANZAC Day morning straight onto the truck with no hassles, ready
for a 3 hour drive to the ride base. We arrived with no
complications and found a bank to unload Lou as our truck does
not have a ramp. Lou bounced off and raced me back to base with
much enthusiasm to see “real” horses.
After unpacking our
gear and entering, I wandered over to vetting and passed with
flying colors. An over all A, a heart rate of 39 b.p.m and a
very happy Lou. I then took him out for a quick ride going about
2-3kms and then let him have his rest.
Next morning Lou woke
me up at 4:30, and begged for attention (and more food), as we
didn’t leave until 9:00am I tried to go back to sleep but
couldn’t, so I got up and watched the 80km riders leave at
6:00am and did some last minute preparations while my Dad went
out with one of our friends at a checkpoint.
My Aunt, Grandmother, 2
cousins and Mum arrived to see me off and help out with
strapping etc. I saddled up and got ready to go as I was going
to leave with the first riders. Lou was very wound up, something
that is reasonably unusual, dancing around and snorting. When we
set off I rode with a lady who I met earlier when she wandered
over and commented that Lou looked a lot like her young gelding
JC. After a while her horse calmed down and I moved off behind
some of my other friends.
Lou didn’t drink at the
first water just before the first real hill, and as we were
about Stephanie and JC caught up and we rode together for the
rest of the ride. The course was rather hard hill work, but
mostly off bad roads, a nice change from Tumbarumba which was
all on roads for the most part.
The worst climb was up
to Mt. Gundagai tower, it was a hard climb and a very steep
decent from the top, which we got off and walked down. We then
went around the back streets of Gundagai and headed for home.
The last 9km were the longest ever!!! When we were about 5 km
from home we were on a ridge up the valley from the camp, Louie
got very upset because he could see the camp very clearly and he
wanted to take the short cut home.
Once we made the last
decent, we were back to where we came the day before and Lou
wanted to race for home. I disappointed him greatly as I made
him walk all the way back. We came in sight of the camp and Lou
perked up again, then our truck came in to view and his ears
just about shot off the top of his head (as they do when he gets
very excited)!
My aunt was waiting,
and took a load of photos as did my Mum. We rode in with a ride
time of 4:48, about 20 minutes slower than last time, but last
time at Tumbarumba it was flatter, easier and faster.
I was a little anxious
at the vetting, but all for nothing, CP Louisville vetted
through for the first time at his second ride, exactly as he
vetted through at the pre ride vetting!!! Heart rate: 39 BPM,
and an overall A!!
After I had a little
cry in Louie’s mane I helped pack up and went over and handed in
my number: 58, and collected my trophy!! A little gold horse and
rider mounted on blue marble patterned stand with a little
plaque reading: Gundagai, Training Ride, 40km. When I got back
to camp I showed it to Lou, who decided the rider would look
better with out a head and tried to eat it off!!
We got home just under
3 hours, unloaded and Louie was trying to eat and drag me home
at a trot at the same time. He was fine the next morning and is
wandering around looking cold in his winter rug that I very
rarely put on, but seeing as we have had snow and sleet for the
last day and a half he needs it!! Once again CP Louisville
arrives home in fine form ready to do it all again!! Can’t quite
say the same for his rider though……

Noni
has done such a wonderful job with Louie. We love hearing
about journey. I have some more from Noni about their last
ride: Hello,
......Wait for it.....
Coolinda Park Louisville is a qualified NOVICE ENDURANCE
HORSE!!!!!!
Over all A in vetting (in and out) and a Heart Rate of 36 both
times! 3 hours and 40 minutes of riding(taking an hour off my
last ride), AND I got Best management encouragement award as
well!!!! I think that Louie did a super job and he has a long
way to go yet!!!
I will send more of a report soon.
Cheers,
Noni and Louie
Cant
wait for the next report and photos! I have more endurance
news from Neroli Cooper who has been able to purchase the
gelding CP Nite Flyte (Chronicle DV imp USA x CP Aflight).
Neroli writes: Hi, just thought you might be
interested to know that Flyte did his first endurance ride on
the weekend at Tooraweenah. He went extremely well finished
with all A's & the vet comments in his log book were
"Excellent". He also got quite a few comments on what a good
looking horse he is. Someone asked his Arabian Line & I said
his sire was pure polish - however I wasn't sure about his dam.
He is a lovely boy, very friendly & affectionate.
Kind Regards
Neroli Cooper

So as
you can see the Polish horses are still proving themselves in
endurance competition. If you would like to see the horses
competing or running in the paddocks then come and say hello at
the Cowra Horse Expo on the 9th & 10th August at the Cowra
showgrounds. We will be having a stall and will be running
dvd's of the Polish horses plus lots of other interesting stuff.
Please visit the website at
www.cowrahorseexpo.com
and see what other things are available.
Our
next update will include the latest show results and some more
news on the endurance scene.
Cheers, Carole
Past Updates
Well
here we are getting ready to show again and weaning foals and
having them ready for their new owners and whoops! Shannon
breaks her ankle! Run down by a sheep.......couldn't even
be something exciting like falling off a wild horse! She
walked on it for 2 weeks after x-rays said it was just a sprain!
Finally got a scan and it is broken in 2 places. Still we
go on and things are getting done!
We
have had some excellent sales and all of the weanling geldings
are now sold. They are all going to excellent homes in 4
different states to be show and performance horses. CP
Kolchzk is going to South Australia to be a show horse and then
sire. We have also had some good sales on the mares and
the following mares will be going to their new homes. CP
Miss Ellie, CP Enya, CP Chynna, Vanessa Lea, and CP Montana.
There are some others in the pipe line and more details will be
given soon. A couple of the older geldings also sold
including CP Lukasz, CP Khris and CP Heeza Lad. CP Lukasz
will be going into dressage and Kris and 'Harry' will be broken
in and be all round performance horses.
A
couple of events that may be of interest are the foal and young
stock show being held at Morongla showgrounds on the 25th May
and the Cowra Horse Expo to be held at Cowra showgrounds on the
9th and 10th of August. We will be having a stall at the
expo and we are trying to encourage as many Arabian people as
possible to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to
promote our breed to the horse world. Please have a look
at the website for the expo and book a stall or share one with
another breeder or business. All contact details are on
the website.
www.cowrahorseexpo.com There will be stallion
parades, services auctions, endurance rides, jousting, seminars
on everything and lots of other stuff. Anybody wanting a
show program for the foal and youngstock show please email me
and I can send one through.
I
have an update on a gelding that we sold a couple of years ago
to a young girl who has taken him from a yearling to now a
lovely fit endurance horse. Her story follows:
We arrived
at Tumbarumba Racecourse at about 10:00 am on Saturday morning
after a 6:00 am start from home. Louie loaded well after I found
him
asleep all
the way up on the very top of the hill. He bounced of the truck
and walked through the camps (with plenty of snorting) to where
we set up
camp and
relaxed until just after lunch when we went to Pre-ride vetting
and passed with top of the line grades all through and a heart
rate of 44 bpm.
The vet
did express concern that he would not finish as I have been
unable to train as much as I would like and Louie had a little
less conditioning than
others in
the ride.
At about
6:30 after a restless night for both of us (Louie trying his
best to keep my attention all night) we set off for the 40km
ride with some nice people
who had
plenty of experience in Endurance riding. We passed the 1st
check point at 7:59, 2nd check point at 8:59 and the
3rd at 10:15, getting across the
line with
a bouncing Lou ready to go again at 11:02.
The first
10km went slowly with Louie getting used to his new Cytek shoes
that he got a week before in his first ever shoeing. I think
that they really helped
him get
through with out any trouble. He didn’t drink at the 1st
check point and was too exited to eat much, just after the next
check point he let lose with his
trot,
easily keeping pace with the other horses, that we were riding
with, and they were going at a working canter. Not long after
that we dropped back from
our
friends to have a quick break at a walk, we were on our way to
catch up and my anti-drag add-on to my stirrup broke. Louie got
a bit worked up about the
stirrup
going flying and me almost losing my balance, but he was very
good under the circumstances. Stirrup fixed we headed on. When
we dropped back a
second
time and then moved to catch up Louie started to pace! No
training in that type of thing and he was doing a normal
Standard bred pace. After that
around the
20km mark he started to slow up a bit with tiredness, but we
turned up a forestry road that was going in the direction of
camp and I was talking to
my fellow
riders when Louie bounced forward, ears up. Light bulb switched
on 'we are going home!!' and from then on I had to hold him in
all the way back.
We pranced
past the camera at the camp and strapped him and headed up to
vetting ahead of time and passed hart rate test with some
surprise on everyone’s
part. It
was 45. One beat more than at Pre-ride. The rest of the vetting
went well until the trot out when he did his usual “Hey Noni, I
don’t see why we have
to do
this, I’m bored, can we go home now?” thing, and we were vetted
out because he was deemed lame by the vets.
While I’m
disappointed in the vetting out, I’m thrilled with Lou’s
wonderful performance!!! Next time (on the 26th of
April) we will get through altogether!
I really
love the way Louie came through that ride. He is one amazing
little horse that we all should be proud of and he was quite
happy this morning, very
little
stiffness and no sign of lameness at all. I’m about to go for a
little quite ride and let him know that it’s not over and that
we have more rides to come!!
At this stage providing they are not cancelled and I can get to
them I will be going to the following rides, Gundagai (26th
April), The R ock
(10th of May),
Wandandian (15th June), Coolamon (27th of
July), Cowra (10th of August), Harden (5th
of October), Woodstock (19th of October) and
Shoalhaven (4th of November).
Cheers,
Noni Seagrim

Congratulations to both of you Noni.
It is fantastic to see people having great fun with their
horses. I will definitely be on the look out for you at
the Cowra ride.
Past Updates
We
are going well with the weaning and the weaners are selling
really well. We now have only one gelding available, CP
Evanzki (WH Zmanor E x CP Eva). A very pretty
gelding that is a trotting powerhouse. He will join
showteam until sold. The mares that have been advertised
are also bringing in a lot of interest. CP Enya, CP
Klara, CP Eva and Vanessa Lea have now been sold.
I
have some NZ news for you. NZ has just had their
Championship show that was judged by George Z of USA. From
all reports the judge had a great time and really enjoyed
judging some lovely horses. Congrats to all involved.
Following is from Belinda Simons of Pegasus Bay Arabians:
This is from my niece Zoe,
aged 13. The story is quite remarkable as they do not have
their own land and they are not a horsey family.
Fancy is by Earth Wind and
Fire (Creme Dynasty x G Lastella) out of a homebred
mare with several lines to Comet.
Hope you enjoy the story:
I
belong to Waihora Pony Club & had grown out of my 12.1 hand
Welsh Pony. My Aunt, Belinda Simons, told me about Flight of
Fancy a horse she had bred at her Pegasus Bay Stud in Le Bons
Bay. Flight of Fancy was now owned by Gabrielle Deuss. F F had
been turned out for 3 years after breaking a bone in her leg.
Prior to that she had a noted career as an endurance pony.
So
we made arrangements with Gabrielle to lease FF & have her
transported from Gabrielle’s at Paekakariki down to us, in
Governors Bay, just outside of Christcurch. On the 18 September
2005 my dad and I went and picked up FF from the horse transport
yard. She had good manners & was easy to handle. We renamed her
Fliss for short and introduced her to her new family.
On our first
ride together FF found it a huge challenge to canter in a
circle. She had little balance and jumping was a disaster with
FF resembling a kangaroo and me a missile.
Pony club expectations, dressage, showjumping
were all new and confusing for FF, although she was more in her
element with cross-country especially with natural jumps. We
practiced and practiced. Fortunately FF was a quick learner and
keen to please.
By June 06 we were ready for our first outing
outside of my pony club.
Off we went to an ODE (One Day Event) at
Rangiora, jumping at pre intro level, 65cm. We got 4th
in dressage and 5th overall.
Our next event was Eyreton ODE. We entered again
at pre intro level and this time she got first at dressage and
first overall. Fliss was very pleased with the first prize, a
25kg sack of crushed barley.
We now felt ready for something bigger and
entered Oxford Show jumping. She went double clear at 75cm and
hit a rail at 85cm.
The 2007 eventing season started with us at
Introductory Level, 75cm jump height. At our first event at
Ferrymead we got 1st in dressage, went well in
jumping & got 5th overall.
Our family went on holiday for a few weeks &
after we got back I expected a bit too much of FF after her
break. After some treatment, supplements & plenty of practice
her performances improved. The Canterbury Pony Club teams event
was coming up and my club felt FF & I were ready to part of the
team. We competed for the Collier trophy. FF and I went double
clear. Our team was well placed.
By June 07 I decided it was time to step up to
pre-training, jumping at 85cm. In the back of my mind I was
thinking maybe FF & I could be part of the Springston Trophy
team, this event would be held in Cromwell in September 2007.
Soon we were going consistently double clear over
the cross country & show jumping & getting overall placings, 5th
at Rakaia, 2nd at Springston, 4th at
Halswell, 4th at Waihora & 2nd at a NZEF
Canterbury event. FF’s dressage needed improvement, but her
cross country was her strong point with clear rounds up to a
minute under the time limit! The problem with cross country was
trying to stop her after the finish flags!
My pony club was now busy selecting members to
compete in the Springston Trophy team. They required 2 senior,
2 intermediate and & 2 junior (under 13 ) riders.
With hard work our results had continued to
improve all year. FF had 6 double clears in a row and this
helped to earn us a place as one of the juniors in the
Springston Trophy team.
Our team of 6 riders had lots of training and
were well prepared. And then disaster. Tragically one of our
senior riders, Chloe Cockerell, was killed in a car accident, 3
weeks before we were to travel down to Cromwell to compete.
Our team was so distraught we were unsure as to
what to do. Chloe’s sister, Malika travelled back from England
for her sister’s funeral. She bravely said she would take
Chloe’s place in our pony club team and rode Chloe’s horse Ziggy.
At Cromwell we focused as best we could and felt
Chloe would have been very proud of us as our team got sixth
overall in the three day event, which is the Waihora club’s best
result in 20years.
The year of 2007 ended with Fliss and I receiving
the most improved senior rider cup from our Pony Club.
Also
from Belinda is a couple of photos of CP Khloe (Khundjur imp
UK x G Leilani) and Lucja competing in the ridden arabian
classes.
 Photo
left is of Belinda and Lucja and the above photo is both the
mares waiting by the ring.
We
also have some photos from Qld of CP Cobb n co during his
breaking. Lynda writes about his breaking:
|
Hello down there Carole and family,
Well today I gave Cobba his first ride - He was very
calm and responsive. We just walked around the
yard. He halted on command turned and took a couple
of steps backward for me. He feel very nice under
me with a lovely walk. He has a ton of potential
and is very trainable and intelligent. I will get a
photo of him under saddle to send to you. He is
looking well and his coat has gone all dappled - He
is black brown at the moment with a few grey hairs -
I am hoping he goes through that beautiful dappled
grey transition. Do you think he will?
I will keep you posted on his progress and maybe
some day we will be able to get out and show our
horses again.

|
Cobba
is looking great and going well under saddle. He may even
be experiencing floaties now to keep him above water!
Keep
sending in your news on any Coolinda Park horses. We love
to hear what you are doing with them. Soon I will have an
update about Strike up the Band.
Cheers
Carole
Previous Updates
We
have started to get the show team ready as the shows are
starting to run again out in our area. Next week we will
start weaning and some of the boys are off to their new homes.
CP
Words of Wisdom (Chronicle DV x CP Erricka) and CP
Kamikazee (WH Zmanor E x CP Kaitling) have been sold to
Parkes. They will be going as a pair of future riding
horses for a husband and wife team. CP Kolczyk (WH
Zmanor E x CP Klara) will be going to South Australia to be
a show colt and future sire. CP Azhley (WH Zmanor E x
CP Aflikka) will be going to Queensland to be a show horse
and a future riding horse. These weaners will be leaving
as soon as they are ready and the others will be prepared for
the upcoming foal shows. The remaining geldings CP Hello
Zailor (WH Zmanor E x CP Hello Dolly) and CP Evanzki (WH
Zmanor E x CP Eva) are still available.
The
above photo is of CP Hello Zailor. The photo was taken by
Lisa Smith of Foxridge Arabians when Lisa and Fred and the boys
visited aver the New Year break. They had a great break
and we put them to work marking lambs. It made the lamb
chops much more enjoyable on the BBQ!!!
I
have added the mares and fillies that are available for sale
onto the sales page. Most of the mares have been joined to
either WH Zmanor E or Walidayt so dont miss the opportunity to
get some world class bloodlines here in Australia.
Just
a short update tonight but I will be back with more photos in
the next week.

Hope
you have had a hassle free new year. It has been great to
see some rain and lower temperatures. Although we hope
that those that are flood affected are safe and well. As
you can see we are now in the 'white zone' with EI nearly
finished. We were never in much threat of getting EI and
none of the horses were infected. In fact one of the
horses from here went to Sydney just before EI broke out and
although all the horses on the property where she was contracted
EI she never did . No one really knows why but our
thoughts are that she had stronger lungs from running on the
hills and was able to fight it off. Just a thought!
A lot
of people have asked how our chicken breeding has been going.
Well......there ended up being approximately 70 chickens running
around. They were funny colours and all crossbred silkies.
A few nights ago foxes dug into the stables and took approx 60
of them. So that was the end of that! Fortunately
the Belgian chickens were nowhere near there and they are still
going strong. these photos are of the two hens and their
chickens and one of the roosters, Mr Spot.

We
really enjoy our chooks and it is nice to have other interests
when you cant do many horsey things!
I've
taken some photos of the foals although it is getting very
difficult to take photos because they all want to have scratches
and like to 'help' taking the photos! I also woke them up
from their morning sleep so they wanted a good reason why.
First photo is of the mares and foals sleeping. Also
Essential (Warranty x Euni) still snoozing and resting
with her colt sired by Chronicle DV.

It
took about 15 mins of walking amongst them for the foals to
eventually get up. That was only because one of the mares
that was already up came over to see what was happening and made
them wake up! The next photo is of CP Hello Dolly (Chronicle
DV x G Leilani) colt sired by WH Zmanor E. He also
didnt want to wake up! In the background is the Walidayt
filly from Carousel (Warranty x Euni). She wasnt
waking up for anyone!

The
bay filly to the right is CP Seattle Zue (CP Chicago Lil x WH
Zmanor E). She also never got up the whole time I was there!
We have sold a couple of the colt foals. CP Kolzyk (Wh
Zmanor E x CP Klara) will be off to South Australia after he
has been weaned. He will become a sire and be gracing the
showring. He is shown below.

CP
Azhley (WH Zmanor E x CP Aflikka) has also been sold.
He will be going to Queensland after weaning. He has a
future as a show horse and in the future a saddle horse.
The colts are only for sale as colts until the end of this
month. They will then be gelded so if you have any
interest in them please let us know as soon as possible.
The photos below are of the filly from CP Foxiling and sired by
WH Zmanor E. She has white belly spots and spotty flanks.
Lots of bling!

There
will be some more foal photos in the next couple of weeks.
I will make sure that I go out after sleep time! While I
was out in the paddocks I was able to get some photos of the
other younger horses. The chestnut filly is a full sister
to the chestnut colt sitting down above. CP Sheeza Doll
(WH Zmanor E x CP Hello Dolly). She is also a full
sister to CP Heeza Lad who is pictured below and on the sales
page for the geldings.

Later
on this month we will be announcing our sales list. We
have decided to cut back on numbers and will be making mares
available that haven't been on the market before. Most
of them will be in foal to WH Zmanor E. If there is
something that interest you please contact the stud and we can
discuss it. As these horses have been treasured for so
long, the home that they are going to is the most important
thing.
We
also have geldings up to 3yo for sale. I have taken some
photos of them as a group and individual photos will be on the
sales page.

The
above photos are of CP Chynzo (WH Zmanor E x CP Chynna) 2
yo gelding and CP Heeza Lad (WH Zmanor E x CP Hello Dolly)
1yo gelding. CP Heeza Lad won Champion Arabian Foal at the
Morongla foal show 2007 and the yearling class on the online
show run by Arabs Inc. The photo above that one is of CP
Chynzo and CP Lex (Chronicle DV x CP Louiza). Both
2yo geldings.
There
will be more updates to follow as we start to wean and get
organised for pony club and a couple of local shows. We
have been doing a bit of cleaning up as well around the farm.
Getting rid of some of the dead trees that didnt make it through
the drought. The ones around the house could do a lot of
damage if they fell down. The only problem is that it can
upset the natives a little. This afternoon there was a 6'
brown snake at the carport. It is amazing how fast you can
run when you need to!!!!!
Til
next time........Carole

Merry Christmas and a happy and EI
free New Year
We
have had a bit of a change of pace as we have all the show
horses out and wont be weaning until next year. So we had
to do something with the stables and here it is!
We now have a total of 30 chickens on the ground of mixed sexes
and mostly Silky breeding. There are more to be hatched!
I'm sure EI has been great for the poultry industry!
We
have had some feedback from owners of horses that we have bred
and they are doing extremely well in their chosen fields.
Firstly is CP Bestseller who is sired by Chronicle DV.
We noticed that you had noted that CP Bestseller had been
performing well with me at Dressage, included in one of your
news updates.
I thought you would be interested in an update of how he is
going with me.
Bobby as we affectionately call him is just recovering from
EI. Unfortunately he contracted the virus a few days after
he was vaccinated at Darkes Forest.
With the break in work, the ‘naughty pony’ is trashing his
toys in particular his red traffic witches hats.
He has such a great character and he is almost human, I am
sure that he thinks he is one of us, always happy to see us
and encourages attention; every one at Darkes Forest is
smitten by his charismatic personality.
Before the outbreak, I was schooling him with new training
principles I learnt on my recent trip to Germany to watch
the European Young Rider and Junior Dressage Championships
and also the Pony Championships. While I was there I had the
opportunity to visit some top coaches and trainers and State
Warmblood Studs. I feel that my riding with Bobby is growing
with my knowledge.
We are competing in Open Competition at the Advanced level
Dressage and training at the Prix St George/Inter I level. I
can not wait to take the ‘little bay Arab’ into FEI
Dressage. He is extremely intelligent and enjoys his work,
which makes him so much fun to train and ride. He has such a
good mind that I can take him on trails through the bush at
Darkes, Pony Club events and even to Clarendon, Hawkesbury
Show Ground, with the Air Force Base across the road and the
train line alongside. Any thing that I throw at him he
catches on with ease, a true riding horse.
At the moment we are both on the NSW Young Rider Squad for
2007, he is the only ‘small’ horse with a young rider
competing at the Advanced Level in open competitions.
Recently Bobby and I appeared in the local newspaper
regarding the cancellation of the Sutherland Shire Horse
Owners Association Annual Championships and I have attached
a copy of this article and also two photos from the 2007 NSW
Young Rider Championships that were taken during our
Advanced 5.3 Test.
I am always interested in reading your website and in
particular the news page as well as the ‘foals’. I
particularly note the Errika and Essential foals as both are
sired by Chronicle, (I would love to meet him!!!!).
We hope to be able to visit Coolinda Park, it looks
interesting and pretty.
Best regards
Emily James and her best friend Bobby

Doesnt Bobby look lovely! It is great to see him as such a
wonderful ambassador Arabians. The next one is of CP
Louisville who is also sired by Chronicle DV. He was
purchased by a young girl as a yearling and has gone on to be a
great companion.
Hello
just thought Id send you a photo of Louie, he is looking really
great at the moment!!
He is a wonderful horse to ride and work with and I was hoping
to enter him in a few endurance rides and Ag shows but of course
EI fixed that plan realy well.
I was on your site today, those little foals look soo cute!!!
Has the EI got any where near you?? Hope not!
Anyway better get on with my homework...
Bye
Noni Seagrim

CP
Cobb n Co is another Chronicle DV gelding that was sold last
year to Rockhampton. His owner fills us in on how he is
going:
|
Hello down there
Carole and family,
Well today I gave Cobba his
first ride - He was very calm and responsive. We
just walked around the yard. He halted on command
turned and took a couple of steps backward for me.
He feel very nice under me with a lovely walk.
He has a ton of potential and is very trainable and
intelligent. I will get a photo of him under saddle
to send to you. He is looking well and his coat has
gone all dappled - He is black brown at the moment
with a few grey hairs - I am hoping he goes through
that beautiful dappled grey transition. Do you
think he will?
I will keep
you posted on his progress and maybe some day we
will be able to get out and show our horses again
|
If
you have a Coolinda Park horse that you love then send an email
and we can put it on the website for you. We like to be
kept up to date with what is happening and how they are going.
I
have some more photos of the foals for you. T hey
are getting a bit hard to photograph as they all like to be in
the camera!
All of the photos were taken in November 07. The first is
of the bay filly from CP Chicago Lil. She is a very typey
filly who will remain in the broodmare band. The Chestnut
below is the colt sired by WH Zmanor E from CP Hello Dolly.
He is available for sale as a colt until Feb 08 and then as a
gelding.

The
filly on the right is from CP Dzaling and sired by WH Zmanor E.
She will also be retained as a show filly and then broodmare.
The next couple of photos are of Essential and her black
Chronicle DV colt CP Josey Wales.
He is a really lovely colt that is now the boss of the paddock.
All the fame of being beautiful is soooo boring sometimes!
Next
is the Chronicle DV colt Words of Wisdom. He is from CP
Errika and is growing like crazy. He should mature 15hds +
and is for sale as a colt until Feb 08 and then as a gelding.
He is such a great colour too. He
also
enjoys a bit of a joke!
I
have some more foal photos which I will put up later. I
have also put some photos on the gelding sale page of CP Chynzo.
Previous Updates
The
mares are all doing well with their new babies. Only one
more to go! We also have the first Walidayt (imp USA) foal
to be bo rn
and she is just lovely. I will show you some photos and
some more
on the foal page. The first foal is from Carousel and sired by
Walidayt. She is a lovely big filly who runs her mum off
her feet. Pictured on the right is a chestnut colt from CP Hello
Dolly sired b y
WH Zmanor E. This colt is for sale at weaning.
The next photo is of a real little cutie! He is sired by WH
Zmanor E from CP Klara. His mum is a maiden mare and
she is making an excellent mother and he is such a friendly boy.
He looks like he will be a very dark bay. There are some
more photos on the foal page.
I
have a poem that most of you would have seen by now. It is
about the effect of EI on all our precious friends. There
is something in this for all of us. It is so very touching
and truthful.
Horse Flu - Not
JUST......
I’m not just a rich man’s trinket
to fulfill a greedy goal,
I am more – much more – to many.
I’m Australia’s heart and soul.
I’m companion, partner, soul mate;
I’m desires beyond just dreams.
I am overcoming hardships;
I’m life’s lessons in extremes.
Once my shoulders bore the burden
of the plough to plant the seed
that would grow the golden wheat fields
to fulfill this nation’s need.
And I laid the precious bore drains
giving lifeblood to this earth;
as I forged the great traditions
then, that gave this country birth.
I have borne your sons to battle,
heard their brief emblazoned cry,
seen the futile, reckless slaughter,
shared the mothers’ anguished “Why?”
I helped you tame this wilderness
- hauled, carted, did your will.
Used, abused and treated lightly,
yet I am your servant still.
I have brought you pride and glory
and a wealth you couldn’t measure.
and a heritage and history
in a partnership to treasure.
Every sport that you’ve invented,
(oft’ with consequences grim),
still I’ve jumped and turned and twisted
as I’ve met your every whim.
I have taught your children caring,
how to put another first,
to take the falls and try again
and cope with best and worst.
I’ve kept your daughters off the streets
and on the straight and narrow.
I’ve put my heart in all I’ve done
- and thrilled you to the marrow.
And yet you turn your back on me
in this - my hour of need.
All you think of is your losses
in your all-consuming greed.
Won’t you listen to my pleadings
for the horseman of this land?
This will change their life forever.
Won’t you try to understand?
For E.I.’s the nine eleven
that will change life as we know it.
The effects are catastrophic,
though the media don’t show it.
There are hordes of Aussie battlers
who’ll go under in this strife
and they’ll lose much more than money.
They will lose their way of life.
I am what makes life worth living.
I’m their every waking thought.
I am what they go without for
and that just can not be bought.
Whether hobby, sport or business,
through the fires and drought and flood,
I’m the way of life they’ve chosen
that is deep within their blood.
We have known the devastation
when a farmer loses all.
Horsemen follow in their footsteps
with their backs close to the wall.
There’s a rumbling now, of anger –
and horse people are not meek.
Will they sink in deep depression?
Will they turn the other cheek?
You have caused this thing to happen,
cutting corners with your greed.
Quarantine laws bent to suit you,
consequences guaranteed.
And so now, I pay the price
for your decisions made in haste.
Yet again I am surrounded
by the suffering and the waste.
Once more greed clouds your judgement,
with your selfish ‘purple zone’,
throwing caution to the winds with
your indulgence overblown.
Do you care about us really?
Now that pride’s before the fall?
Do you really want to help this?
Or do dollars say it all?
We can’t stop this raging virus;
all we ask is justice metered.
Let not the vested interests
dictate how this should be treated.
Demand consideration for
the Racehorse AND the scrubber.
Vet. treatment shouldn’t be denied
a much loved Pony Clubber.
I sympathise with milliners,
and with trainers. Yes, I’m trying.
But it pales in insignificance
when cherished friend is dying.
No, I’m not just a rich man’s trinket
to fulfill a selfish goal.
I am Horse. I am your brother.
I’m Australia’s heart and soul.

I
want to share an exciting photo with you tonight......our first
bales of hay! Hopefully there will be more to come.

The
foals have started to arrive and they are beautiful babies!
They all arrived a little late but everything has gone well and
the mares are settling well. The foals have now formed
their own race track around the paddock and are running their
mums legs off! The photos below are of the first 4 foals.
Sienna Polska was the first one with a lovely filly sired by WH
Zmanor E. CP Dzaling has foaled a very typey filly by WH
Zmanor E. CP Errika foaled a black / brown colt by
Chronicle DV and boy can he move! He has a lovely long
neck and a pretty head. He should mature 15hds + and is
available for purchase. The 3rd foal is colt from CP
Kaitling and by WH Zmanor E and is always sleeping when I go out
to get photos. He is a Chestnut that will soon be grey.
He is tall and leggy and will be over 15hds. As he is a
Lingxiu grandson and is going to be quite big he would be an
excellent endurance horse and future sire of endurance horses.
The Lingxiu progeny are proven on the endurance field as Quilty
and European Champions. He is also available for purchase.
The
photo on the left is of the colt from CP Errika and on the right
is the filly from CP Dzaling. The photo below is of CP
Kaitlings colt and S Polska's filly, sleeping.

I
will be putting more photos on the foal page. The colts
that are for sale will be kept colts until weaning. If you
have any interest in purchasing them as colts please let us know
before then.
I
have some more sales to report. Firstly, the black filly
CP Xzinda-ella (Chronicle DV x CP Xza Xza) has been
purchased by Johanne Gardiner. Johanne visited the stud
and fell in love with the filly. Johanne writes:
Now my kids are
a bit older and we have more time, I'm back to my first love
(as my husband calls them). I have worked with our homebred
gelding (Najoha Kikheem) who was broken in as a 3yr old and
then not ridden till this year as an 8yr old. After just 3
months training my kids are now learning to ride on him. He
has a wonderful temperament (just like his Mum!) but just
too small for me and I wanted to be able to ride out with
my kids as they get better.
So the search
began for my dream horse. Arab, unbroken, black, filly, over
14.3, great movement and temperament and had to move
me! Picky I know but I finally, after about 8 months, found
her and so close to my parents home!
Ella (what we
have been calling her) is going to be my best mate. I want
to do all the training to saddle and eventually harness
(when I learn a bit more). I will show her in halter and
under saddle, dressage, trail ride, and when a bit older
endurance, learn to jump and maybe a black foal or two. The
all purpose horse! As my kids grow she may find activities
that are fun to do with them. Part of the family and trusted
with them.
The quality and
evenness of conformation and movement as well as
the temperament of the herds at you place were amazing! Just
made the decision so easy to buy her from you.
Thankyou
Johanne. Im sure 'Ella' will enjoy her new home as
much as you enjoy her. Johanne visited with her
parents who live at Woodstock. While looking at the
mares one of our rams that was raised as a pet, came running
over to investigate. Lucky , the rams name, liked the
attention from the ladies of the group but after getting
pats and scratches decided he was the only man to be around
and took to Johanne's Dad! You never know what will
happen when you visit Coolinda Park. Johanne also took
some photos when she was at the farm. I have attached
them below.
And of course everyone has to know what is
happening!
Also
going to a new home is CP Diezkan (WH Zmanor E x Dancing in
the Dark). He will be going to Kelly - Lee Smith from
the Central Coast. Kelly was able to visit the stud to
look for a gelding that she could take showing and do everything
with. CP Diezkan was perfect for this. Kelly writes:
|
Thanks
you for showing me around your stud and looking at
your beautiful horses.
I look
forward in coming back to pick up CP Diezkan. It was
a bit of a drive Home but the trip there was worth
it. Talk soon.

Its
great to see our horses going to such caring homes. We
cant ask for anymore than that.
We
are still waiting on more mares foaling. I went out and
took some photos of the 'ladies in waiting' to share with you.
The grey mare is CP Hello Dolly (Chronicle DV x G Leilani)
and she is foaling to WH Zmanor E. The chestnut mare is CP
Foxiling (Lingxiu x A Facination) and she will be foaling
to WH Zmanor E. The brown mare is CP Chicago Lil
(Chronicle DV x Lilliana bint Lillaine) and she will be
foaling to WH Zmanor E.
.
Previous Updates
We
have had and excellent response for the Chronicle DV semen.
There is no more available but if you would like to be put on a
waiting list, let us know in case there is some left over after
mares have been joined. The semen will be shipped to
Qld, NSW and Vic so it has enabled some who wouldn't have been
getting a foal due to EI can now be looking forward to a
new baby.
Also
about to go on a career of breeding babies is CP Chilli Pepper
(Chronicle DV x CP Chicago Lil). CP Chilli Pepper
is going to the Wagga area with Narelle Pollard of Brampton
Park. Narelle is well known for breeding beautiful
coloured ponies and feels the CP Chilli Pepper will fit right
in. Congratulations to Narelle and I cant wait to see the
coloured ponies you can breed from CP Chilli Pepper. Also
on the move from Coolinda Park (when the EI situation improves)
is CP Linkz (Wh Zmanor E x CP Lingxia bint Sepia).
As you would know from previous updates CP Linkz has been a very
successful show filly for us and now she will be moving on to a
saddle career with Jacqui Langfield of Birdwood Stud.
Jacqui has admired CP Linkz for some time and thought that she
would make a brilliant saddle horse but thought that we would
want to keep her as a led horse. I think Jacqui was quite
surprised when she approached us and we said "Yeah OK!"!
It
was a beautiful day today so I was able to get some photos of
the pregnant mares and Walidayt (imp USA).

I
think the above photo of Essential (Warranty x Euni)
tells the story when it comes to being in the last stages of
pregnancy. She feels fat, uncomfortable and definitely
didn't want her photo taken! If only the tree was a little
bit wider! Essential is in foal to Chronicle DV, a mating
that has previously bred black foals.
This
photo on the right is of CP Dzling (Lingxiu x G Lastella)
who is foaling to WH Zmanor E. Below is M Carousel
(Warranty x Cliche) and she is foaling to Walidayt.

The
photo on the left is of CP Kaitling (Lingxiu x CP Kaliope)
who is foaling to WH Zmanor E. Below is S Polska
(Excellence x CP Chynna) and she is foaling to WH Zmanor E.

Walidayt imp USA (Ganges x
Weltawa) is a bit difficult to photograph because he
is so quiet and wants to be with you all the time. Today
he did give a bit of a show for about 5 minutes! There's
some more on his page.
So
the next update will have new foal(s) on them. There are 3
mares due from today and look like they are ready within a
couple of days.
Cheers
Carole
Previous Updates
Well
haven't things changed since the last news! Everyone was
happy doing their own thing, getting ready for this and that and
suddenly we are all confined to barracks! Although I must
say that I am enjoying being able to spend time with the horses
and not having to run around and get ready for shows. No
early mornings and late nights and trying to foal and breed
mares in between! Not only that but I am way ahead on
Christmas shopping!
I
have noticed one of the common problems with the lockdown is
that anybody who wanted to breed their mare can't send it
anywhere. For this reason I have decided to offer a
limited amount of Chronicle DV (imp USA)
frozen semen for free. The costs of inseminating the mare
and obtaining the semen is at the mare owners cost. Once
the foal is born and is registered then an amount of $500 is
payable for the semen that produces a colt or filly foal.
If the foal is gelded or isn't registered then the semen is
free. So instead of leaving your mare
empty and having to wait another year to get her in foal which
then puts you 2 years behind, take up this offer and have a
chance of a foal on the ground next spring. Contact us a
Coolinda Park and let us know if you would like the semen
released. It is currently at EAB at Mullengandra near
Albury. Remember there is only a limited amount available
so get in fast.
I
have been out taking some photos of the mares. Although we
now really need rain the crops are still growing and the feed is
coming away on the hills.

The
mare on the left of the photo above is CP Errika (Warr of the
Worlds x CP Enchante). CP Errika is one of the first
to foal and she is in foal to Chronicle DV (imp USA). The
mare in the middle is S Polska (Excellence x CP Chynna).
S Polska is in foal to WH Zmanor E (imp USA). The mare on
the right is Dancing in the Dark and she is currently being bred
to Walidayt (imp USA). Another mare that is foaling hopefully
this week is CP Dzaling (Lingxiu x G Lastella). CP
Dzaling is foaling to WH Zmanor E (imp USA) and looks to be
carrying a filly. Fingers crossed! I will put the
foal photos onto the foal page and if their are any that you
would like especially any of the colts let us know as we will be
gelding at weaning and we have no reason to keep any colts for
ourselves this year. We have 12 mares in all foaling this
year. I have listed them on the foal
page. As I get more photos I will keep you up to date.
We
have had some sales in the last month although the horses are
staying at no cost until the lockdown is lifted. Firstly,
CP Zillion (WH Zmanor E x Lillian)has been sold to be a
pleasure horse in the Tumburumba area. He will be chasing
brumbies and rounding up stock and I'm sure he will love it.
We have also sold the black filly CP Xzinda-ella (Chronicle
DV x CP Xza - Xza). CP Xzinda-ella has been sold to a
show home near Newcastle. I will have some more details to
follow.
Previous updates
I was
able to get some photos of Walidayt (imp USA) today as he
galloped around the paddock. I will add some to his page
as well.

I
often get asked how we can afford to raise our horses and sell
them for the low prices that we do. Because we are able to
grow our own oats and hay, it cuts our overheads right down.
We are able to fill 2 x 30 tonnes silos with oats and we cut our
own lucerne, clover and oaten hay. The horses are also run
on pastures of clover and rye and the broodmare paddocks are
sown to oats and lucerne. During the year they also run on
large lucerne paddocks and as you can see from previous photos
they also spend a bit of time on the oat crops.
We sell all our geldings because we have no need for them.
We ride our mares or stallions and geldings are sold to cover
the upkeep (feet, teeth, drenches etc) of the other horses.
I hope this clears up things for you. We prefer to get a
good home for a gelding where someone is going to love them and
enjoy them rather than try and sell them off at inflated prices.
I
have an update from Lynda in Rockhampton who purchased the
Chronicle DV gelding CP CobbnCo.

"I tried to do a little
clipping with him yesterday, just to get him used to
them - he thought they were a deadly weapon, which
was understandable! This morning he didn't even
get up when I walked into his stable allowing me to
rub him all over his head and ears - which is
something he was quite shy of. Then this afternoon
I had another go with the clippers I put a towel
over his eyes and clipped the rest of his body
(certainly a job I am not good at) so it looks like
we are over that obstacle - He had no dirt in him he
is just frightened, but doesn't have a death wish
and realizes when its no use fighting himself. He
trusts me and just listened for my voice as I
clipped him.
Carole, I think he is a
magnificent animal - He is tall elegant beautifully
balanced with the most incredible front. I really
haven't done much halter training but he is a
natural and loves to pose stretching his neck like a
rubber band - When he is ready I will take him to a
show so I can compare him to other geldings. (you
know how we think our own is just gorgeous). There
is nothing like the reality of competition. I do
think he has that something special."
|
Its
good to hear how well they are going. If you have any news
on a Coolinda Park horse please let us know so we can share it
on this page. I will be spending the rest of this week
taking some more photos to put on here for you. I will be
able to put some photos of the sale horse on as well.
Cheers
Carole
Previous updates
I
have some photos of our new Polish sire. Introducing Eddie
- a white crested Polish rooster! He will soon be gracing
the show ring and his progeny will be available.

Gotcha!!!!!
Now back to some
horsey stuff. I was able to get some photos today of the
fillies and geldings in their paddock. The feed is really
starting to grow well and the horses are losing their winter
coats and are starting to really glow. Our first foals are
due on the 15th September so we are eagerly awaiting them.
In these photos
the black filly is CP Chilli Pepper who is on the sales list and
the grey filly in the first photo is CP Elizja who is also on
the sales list.
I have some news
from Teresa Doyle and the gelding CP Columnist.
Hi carol, I
just wanted to say hi and keep you informed on teddy! Just
last weekend my daughter took ted to a mounted games weekend
at Jerrara with our pony club. Although they were not
nominated for state, our team made 3 state times! They took
home champion senior team over all. It was a great weekend
and as usual, ted was at his best! I will send you some
photos soon, regards, Teresa Doyle..
So you can see how versatile a
Chronicle DV gelding can be. Please see the geldings
that we have for sale at very affordable prices.

Hi All
We have now
updated the sales list to include mares in foal to both
Chronicle DV and our junior sire Walidayt. Please go to
the sales page for more
information.
At the recent foal
show held at Hawkesbury CP Zia was exhibited by Ruth Hausman
from Oberon. Ruth and CP Zia had a great time and achieved
some very good placings in strong competition. Ruth and CP
Zia had not shown before so were able to learn together.
Thanks to Mr Ron Males on helping Ruth prepare this filly for
the show. I think we will see Ruth and CP Zia at some more
shows since they were bitten by the show bug! I will put
in a photo of CP Zia and her wins. Congratulations to all
the winners.
I have some photos
of the mares grazing at the moment on the farm that I would like
to share with you. This is CP Klara, CP Aflikka and CP
Enya enjoying the oat crops. There is about 20 mares and 4
geldings in that paddock but the remainder all wanted close ups!
This is a crop of
Mitika oats that are grown to harvest and fill the silos.
We have been able
to acquire a new polish sire and he arrived last week courtesy
of Jenkins horse transport at Bathurst. I would like to
thank Jenkins for the way they looked after our new boy and he
arrived in excellent condition after an overnight trip. We
have always found that Jenkins are reliable and treat the
animals well. He is only seven months old but has his
select group of girls already waiting for him. Photos to
follow.

We have started to
get organised for the spring with the pregnant mares being moved
onto the foaling paddocks and the ones to be joined are getting
closer to the stallions. Our crops are growing so well
that we have been able to put the sheep and horses onto the oats
to eat them back. Lots of work to do on the farm with,
spraying, sowing and all the farm work that goes along with
sheep and horses. We are even going to a chook auction on
the weekend to get some new roosters and get rid of some of the
extras. So spring is definitely on the way and we are
having beautiful sunny days with cool nights and the horses are
all dropping their winter coats. Below are photos the farm
and CP Chicago Lil who will be foaling in September.
Our show team are
coming along really well. We will be showing CP Linkz (WH
Zmanor E x CP Lingxia bint Sepia) as a 3yo filly this year
and the weanling/yearling filly CP Essencia (Chronicle DV x
Vanessa Lea). In the Arabian Pony ring we will have CP
Aflame N Sin (Brampton Sinbad x CP Aflame) 2yo Palomino
gelding and CP Aflikka Soot (Brampton Sinbad x CP Aflikka)
2yo Buckskin filly. Of course we cant forget Buddy, (Thorpeville
Amos - Shetland) who Emily will be riding and showing. We
have a couple of others that will be doing some shows and there
may be a "golden oldy" or two that will be returning to the
ring! Pictured below is Buddy with his paddock and stable
mate CP Essencia.

We have some news
from New Zealand. Gabrielle Duess of Aspenhill Arabians
sent us an update on her colt Fugitivo (Chronicle DV x
Eternity exp NZ). Gabrielle writes:
Eternity's colt was a bit
of a challenge to start with, he is very
investigative, and curious, but he is also a
bit wimpy, a difficult mix to understand
initially. He will go up to anything scary and
have a look but if anything moves, he is out of
there. He is a big boy, and he is starting to
respect me now and is very sensible. I have
been boxing him and a filly for a month just for
his own long term benefit. He would rather be
out with the yearlings and two year olds...he
gives them a hard time, play fighting all the
time, he is always biting at their necks and
rearing up like the pictures you see of young
colts at play. I think when I first got him
in, he thought he could play fight with me as
well but it didn't appeal at all!
He is a true horse of the
desert, he does not like water and mud. I had
a big argument with him yesterday about going
through a gate - he was just scared of it. But
on the way back he reckon leaping over the top
was a safe option.
Looks wise, he has a nice
long neck and a lovely fine and racy head. He
has big ears but they suit him. He has a very
nice hindquarter and good legs. I think he is
of the Polish working/racing conformation - he
has a very long stride but not the quarter horse
acceleration from zero, his long lope catches
them up though. He is wonderfully free through
the elbows and just loves exercising himself.
Sounds like he is
maturing into something lovely. When we get some photos I
will put them on.
I'm still updating
other parts of the website but seem to get distracted so they
are taking longer than expected. I will keep you updated.
Cheers
Carole

Just a quick hello
tonight as we are updating some of the other pages. You
will soon find more details on the stallion pages with photos
and articles on there family lines. Also we hope to have
an Arabian Pony page up and running with news on the ponies and
what they have been up to.
I have some new
photos of CP Zia (WH Zmanor E (imp USA) x Lingxia Bint Sepia)
who is owned by Ruth Hausman and is currently being looked
after by Ron Males of Ralvon Stud. Ruth and Ron hope to
take the filly to the foal show at Hawkesbury at the end of the
month. We hope to get up to see her shown as we know she
will look beautiful.

That's all I have
for now but it wont be too long and we will start foaling and
then we will be getting photos of babies and lots of news.

Everything is
growing well and the crops are getting established and we are
still getting rain. Luckily it hasn't been flooding rains
that others have had and we hope that everyone involved has been
able to get through them without too much loss of stock and
fences, gear etc.

I was able to get
some photos today of CP Lukasz (WH Zmanor E x G Lastella)
and his paddock mate CP Diezkan (WH Zmanor E x Dancing in the
Dark). Both of these horses are for sale and can be
seen on the sales page. This photo also shows how the
paddocks have grown and become green.
Recently we
travelled to Canberra to participate in a training day held by
Arabs Inc. It was a lovely sunny day and we were able to
have a halter lesson with Ray Smith of River Oak Arabians.
We took over the Arabian Pony filly CP Aflikka Soot and CP
Eksplozja (WH Zmanor E x CP Errika) a 2 yo filly.
CP Eksplozja has been leased to Judith Perkins of Apple Gum
Arabians in Canberra. Judith loved CP Eksplozja from the
day she first saw her. CP Eksplozja is a very tall, pretty
chestnut filly that will grace the showring soon. We wish
Judith the best of luck with this filly and know that she will
get a lot of enjoyment showing such a beautiful Arabian. The
following photo is of CP Eksplozja at home in the yards
earlier in the year. We cant wait until we see her in show
condition exploding into the ring!
There isn't too
much else happening at the stud. I have a photo of Emily
that I would like to share with you. She is playing in
Cowra Eisteddfod where her preschool won there instrumental
section and opened the main concert. Emily is 3rd from the
teacher. The concert was great and all the kids loved it.

We have had rain
and the grass is green, the crops are growing and finally it is
looking positive. The mares are cantering around the hills
and the young horses are playing in their paddocks instead of
asking for more feed and standing at the fences waiting for the
hay. Although it is still a long way off until we harvest,
it looks like there could be a good one. Lets keep hoping!
There isn't much
happening with the horses at the moment. We are having a
short break until it is time to start the show work again.
Morongla All breeds foal show was on the last weekend of May and
we took the gelding CP Heeza Lad (WH Zmanor E (imp USA) x CP
Hello Dolly) and the filly CP Essencia (Chronicle DV (imp
USA) x Vanessa Lea).
CP
Heeza Lad won Champion Arabian and CP Essencia got the reserve.
Both foals had an exciting day and were very tired by the time
they got home. It is such a great oppor |
